The Chicago Bears have a new starting safety in two-time All-Pro Kevin Byard.

Byard and the Bears agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal on Sunday, paving the way for GM Ryan Poles to focus on other positions in free agency once the legal tampering period begins on March 11.

Bears fans are excited about Byard’s addition to one of the best young secondaries in the NFL, and they expressed that excitement on X.

I like the Kevin Byard signing for the #Bears.

Short-term deal that doesn’t tie him down for a ton of money. Coming off a down year, but his INT/PBU production has been elite most of the last few years.

A vet like him with Jaquan Brisker should be helpful for his development.
